Although we stress that our MD degree is not for purposes of practicing medicine, what one can achieve with it really depends upon country rules and regulations which vary widely. All of Blue Marble University doctoral programs are deemed equivalent to regionally accredited US colleges and universities. Those of our graduates across all programs who have chosen to pursue a certificate of equivalency have obtained one from a foreign educational credentials evaluation service.
Now, when it comes to our MD degree, although our program lacks clinical training, it is nonetheless equivalent academically to a US medical degree. One of our recent graduates had his MD degree from Blue Marble University Medical School favorably reviewed by various foreign credentials evaluators for equivalency to the academic portion of a US medical degree. All reports certified as to equivalency. An excerpt from one report, dated December 13, 2016 states:
“[The student] enrolled in the Blue Marble University Medical School in 2014. Blue Marble University is an innovative modern university that offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate online programs. Some of their programs include Biology, Computer Engineering, Humanities, Medicine and many more. There he studied specialized medical classes and met all requirements in their curriculum. After completing 81 semester credit hours and all required courses and passing all exit examinations [the student] completed his Doctor of Medicine Degree in December of 2016. General studies coursework in the above-mentioned fields, coupled with specialized major studies comprise the required curriculum of a candidate seeking a Doctor of Medicine Degree from an accredited institution of secondary education in the United States….After careful research and analysis, the certified credential evaluators have determined that [the student] has satisfied the requirements to attain the equivalent of a Doctor of Medicine Degree from an accredited institution of higher education in the United States.” [Emphasis added]
Our graduate actually obtained a similar report from three foreign education evaluation services (including the above excerpted report).
Upon presenting his evaluation to the Royal Society for Public Health (United Kingdom), he was awarded a Diploma in Occupational Medicine in October 2017. This is a vocational training credential which grants the student authority to practice Occupational Medicine in the United Kingdom, following which our graduate then received this updated foreign credentials evaluation report which we excerpt here:

“1. He has a Transcript and a Diploma from Blue Marble University Medical School, the Commonwealth of Dominica, which attests that the degree, Doctor of Medicine, was conferred on 06 December 2016.
Admission to this study requires the completion of a level of education equivalent to the U.S. Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of study. This is a three-year program of graduate study in Medicine. It is equivalent to the U.S. degree, Doctor of Medicine, from an institution that does not have regional accreditation. While Blue Marble University Medical School is not accredited and is not actively seeking accreditation, it is listed on the University Directory Worldwide and has been issued a Certificate of Good Standing by the government of Dominica. There is presently no evidence to indicate that Blue Marble University Medical School is not a legitimate institution. (This is an evaluation of degree equivalency solely; only qualified authorities can determine licensure for medical graduates.)
2. He has a Diploma issued by the Royal Society for Public Health, United Kingdom, which attests that he was awarded the Diploma in Occupational Medicine on 06 October 2017. As we have stated on our website, the Blue Marble University Medical School MD degree puts our graduates in the same career track position as the many other medical graduates from traditional MD programs who choose not to pursue medical licensing.
